Service to the community
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Desai volunteered at the KDMC fever clinic, without payment, while also caring for his own patients. In 2020 to 21 the Indian Medical Association, Dombivli, honoured him with a Certificate of Honour for his contribution to COVID care.
